Movie Tech vs. Real Tech: Why Is the Gap So Big?

Let’s stop and think about something that most people never question. Movies make energy look easy. A glowing reactor the size of a coffee cup powers a flying suit, a building, a high powered hand-held laser gun, and nobody ever mentions a fuel bill or how such a device is constructed.

We love that stuff. It’s part of why we got into this field. But it’s worth asking a question the movies skip: why is real energy technology so far behind?

What the movies show us

  • A palm-sized power source that runs for years
  • Space ships that cross the galaxy and display antigravity characteristics with no explainable fuel supply
  • Energy that’s clean, quiet, and nearly unlimited

What we actually have

  • Power plants that fill entire campuses
  • Batteries that need hours to charge and still lose capacity over time
  • Fusion experiments that cost billions, with facilities the size of buildings, yet their power output never exceeds input

So why the gap?

Part of the problem is that movies are what most people believe to be fiction. Fiction is the realm of the imagination where “real life” constraints and limitations don’t exist. And that right there is what we need to look at. What part of our existence are we forgetting to question. Are we limited by what’s truly possible, or only by what we’ve been taught to believe?

Every era thinks it has reached the edge of what’s possible. Then something changes how people look at the problem. We aren’t saying a pocket-sized reactor is coming next year. We’re saying that the so-called “fiction” gap is worth questioning, and the answers don’t have to come from the places everyone has been looking.

We’ve already been there

See, we at Blue Cube Rocket have a different problem. We’ve already solved this equation of making fiction into reality. Our problem is not with the understanding that “fiction” absolutely has truth behind it. We already have the proof and the logical explanation that it does.

Our problem is in trying to get others to see the blinders they’ve been programmed with so they can be free to see the truth that’s been hidden in plain sight all along. Mental strongholds and mainstream programming are extremely difficult to break out of. We know that ourselves (been there).

So today, we’re not going to try to climb that mountain all at once. We just want to give you a few steps along that path to get you started.

A challenge for this week

Pick a piece of movie technology you wish were real. Then ask what would have to be true about the real world for it to exist. Don’t look at your scientific background for the answers. Instead, look beyond that and ask how can the imagination even concoct things if there’s no way to ever make it happen?

Ah yes, this is a much deeper question now isn’t it. As we’ve said before… Sometimes you have to go back to the beginning and start over. When you do, you may be surprised at what you discover.

Stay tuned. This is not empty philosophy that goes nowhere. We stated that we’ve already cracked the code on this one. And we have. You’ll find out soon enough.

Blue Cube Rocket doesn’t make movies. But we are going to show you that the so-called “fiction” gap will be closed sooner than you’d believe. Then, will you believe us?
